Shakedown Event at MSR

Eric and Ryan took the car to MSR on Saturday for a shakedown run. They ran the car for five sessions and reported no significant problems whatsoever! The car didn't overheat, the fan and fan switch worked perfectly, the seating and steering position was comfortable, and the car handled reasonably well. There were a few minor problems. The brakes are unbalanced, so they found it too easy to lock the fronts. Also, the car is slow. But none of that really matters. The most important thing is that we have a dependable car, because if we want to place in the top ten (our goal for this year), we need to be there at the end.

We are thrilled at the good news and hope to carry that excitement through this last week of preparation before the race.

Right before loading the car onto the trailer, I added the pièce de résistance - the four rings on our new mono-grille.

Loaded-up and ready to go.

Eric and I broke bread and made peace after months of disagreeing on every...single...aspect...of the race car build. :-)

Ryan shakin' it down.
